Loved waking up to a gorgeous view overlooking the canal! The breakfast was nice but having a strict time slot of 7, 7:30, or 8 am was a bummer. The noise from the nearby bars was quite loud at night 😅

The staff were both VERY INFORMATIVE and exceptionally helpful. The location was comfortable and best possible, for example, Hozenji Temple was around 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. The property was located about 10 minutes walk from the city centre.

The staff seemed friendly, but I just coulnd't believe the noise from the bars at night. It ruined my entire experience! I also almost got some sleep, but the wi-fi was so weak I couldn't even download a simple email. A complimentary welcome gift would have been nice, too, seriously! I almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

Good location, convenient to city touring.
Interier is too old and shaby. Price should have been lower. Could get better accomodatins for the same price.

This is a very traditional Japanese hotel. The rooms are tatami may flooring. The beds are futons and are packed away during the day ( a Japanese table and chairs are then placed in the room). U really feel like u r in Japan - in fact there can be no doubt in your mind! The hotel has a traditional public bath, super clean and steaming hot. One for males, one for females. The breakfast is traditional Japanese in a private room. Not even vaguely a buffet. The staff are fabulous. There is green tea and iced water and Japanese biscuits in your room at all time. The hotel is on a "drinking street" - actually lots of strip clubs I think but couldn't follow the Japanese!! But is super close to the heart of downtown osaka - shopping and party area. It is a great hotel. We stayed twice because 3 yrs after our first stay my 9 yr old daughter asked to go stay there again. It is a v cool little hotel .
The hot water in the shower and taps of the ensuite spluttered madly, making it hard to get the shower temp right. The heater/clock unit next to our heads when we were sleeping buzzed rather loudly. The wifi didn't reach to our room - only the foyer.

The best thing about the Ryokan was the service, the gentleman at the front desk went out of his way to give us help and travel advise even for our ongoing travel in other cities. The location is awesome as well.
The smell in the elevator was almost unbearable.

The unit was a nice size.
I was offered a room with INCREDIBLE views of city. The bathroom was big size, included a shower, hairdryers, and towels. The hotel's location was central, next to the river.

The room was spacious and clean, equipped with a private bathroom and a lovely view of the canal. The attention to detail, such as the daily pitcher of ice water and tea, impressed me.

Great location right near an underground station (3 mins walk) and the Dotombori shopping area. All the staff were lovely although only one really spoke functional English. The foyer looks a little tired but really for the price and location its definitely your best bet.

enclosure by windows, spacious room, balcony overlooking canal
Noise from nightlife could be improved!!! The shower pressure wasn't ideal for a refreshing wash!!! Consider adding soundproofing to reduce disturbances from the street!!! The décor felt quite dated, needing a refresh!!!

I loved the hotel overall. The venue was traditional, spent my time lovely here. The location in a such beautiful area was easy and there were a pharmacy and a shopping area nearby. Visited few places in the center, not very far from the hotel. Stayed for 1 night, the staff was very helpful and genuinely helpful during all this time.
